Well, final piece. Just had a tattoo done on my upper arm. It's Metal Gear inspired but there's a little more behind it.
I used to watch my brother play the original MGS on PSX. We did that alot actually.
My brother is important to me and we wanted to share a tattoo. When my brother saw that I was working on Naked Snake he screamed for the FOX-logo on his arm (well... screamed in his own way...) Anyways, I was all for. Just thought I'd personalize it a bit.
The 2 Snakes form a double helix around the FOX logo. The transparent Snake on the top is spawning "Liquid" water molecules (in 2D format). Next to the DNA bars there's a nucleotide sequence and the Snakes themselves contain our birthdates.
Now, my brother has the opposit one. With the upper Snake being black and the lower being transparent. The one he has, contains corresponding nucleotides to the one on my arm. Next to that, the lower transparent Snake on his arm is spewing water molecules within an ice crystal.... Water molecules in "Solid" form (also drawn out in 2D format).
MGS is based around Big Boss (this costume) and his cloned "sons", Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. The whole theme of gentics, brothers and the past memmories we had with this game made this the ideal theme for a joined tattoo.
When you combine our tattoo's, the Twin Snakes are complete
My brother and I are quite alike, yet completly different. That theme is very well adressed through Liquid and Solid. The same, yet opposit.
