I have removed, to the best of my abilities, any and all deviations that could, by any person, be regarded as racially insensitive, discriminating or otherwise harmful in any other form or way.

I apologize to all whom I might have harmed or offended.
All I can say is that my only goal always has been, and always will be creative at heart. I have no other meaning or agenda behind any of my work, other then to try to recreate the awesome characters of Connor and Aveline to the best of my abilities.

I would like to add that I cannot be held accountable for the publication or distribution of any and all other photo material of me and my wife that could also be regarded as racially insensitive, discriminating or otherwise harmful in any other form or way.

EDIT:
Furthermore I would like to say that anytime in the future I will be wearing Connor, I will not be using make-up that changes my skin color. I used to use a much darker foundation, then the tone of my own skin.

I will still however, use make-up to create shadow effects around my eyes, cheek bones and other regions that I feel should be highlighted. This in addition to a foundation closer to my own skin color. Also, I will  be using color lenses to change the color of my iris. This might be total black irises, or dark brown irises.

Another thing is the skin color of my wife. I found she was being called racially insensitive aswell on the internet. This can be said about me. But when I talked about changing the make-up to more natural matching colors she got angry and burst into tears. She IS NOT going to change her skin-tone for anyone and she hasn't done that for the Aveline make-up job either. My wife is of mixed heratige and she's proud of it.

Yes we used darker make-up for my wife, as that is closer to her natural skin color. This we will keep doing.
For me as Connor, we used make-up much darker to change the tone of my skin. This we wil stop doing.

Again, my apologies to anyone I might have unwillingly offended.
I will post pictures of a new make-up job soon, hopefully not racially insensitive to anyone.

Best to you all!!
-Rick

Oh my god, I just got online to reply you...
I'm from Venezuela, in SouthAmerica... A really mixed heratige country...

My friend and I... also fans of AC, specially Connor and Aveline. We're shock by this news... In my country the skin colour for a cosplay is always been a mayor subjet, because there was always the problem of your skin being to dark for the character. or the other side, your skin is too light up for the character.

And I must say, it's only a character the real thing for admiration is the fact of your works and abilities to make it real.
I believe all the people said they're offended it's just because of the reason that "light" people always are judging them for making characters with light skin being dark... Just and pure Envy and Jealousy--

My friend says something very important: There is more people who love your work and your wifes work and performance than the people who hates the subjet discuss... and that my friend, it's something you must always considerate when you wear all your works...

I know what it's feels to be reject or criticism by your skin color, and I know how your wife feels about it.
I just can say to her "People who considerate something or someone less that you, use the "Hurt feelings" action to make themself good".

You and your wife made an incredible job. I was really amaze and I even showed it one pic to my little brother and he said "Ohh that's a new figure of AC 3?" when he find out it was a cosplay, he was in shock and know he follows your work... eventhou he doesn't have a DA account.

In a big resume. Haters gonna hate... Hehehehe... But I must say... KEEP DOING IT...

Those who felt you were being Racism or something... oh my god, then the people who were eye contact with color of blue or green should feel racism too because they're offending people with eyes of that color in natural. -.-

At least you tried, and you did success wearing an incredible work... that I love seeing everywhere! (I even got you on my screen saver-laptop) hehehe Yeah... I'm a bit stalker as my friend is cof cof.... hahahah

Soo... I hope you don't feel as all the support of other people are giving you to feel you're offending someone...

Regardless of who believes brown/blackfacing is okay or not okay in cosplay, it's really awesome that you apologized. I really wanted to 100%-love your cosplays for a long time, but was iffy because I wasn't sure how you'd handle all the backlash. Some cosplayers just whine and cry when they're called out, and that really ruins my admiration for them. They should really take a few notes from you.

So, Rick, don't be like that :\
I really love everything on your Cosplays! Even the makeup!

I'm not good in this... But I gave it a try.
If I could I would write more. I hate English right now.

You know what pisses me off? The fact that people act so unethical, just because they are jealous. Its fucking hilarious when they don't understand that its a fictional character, and that having it correct to the slightest itty bitty detail is fucking amazing.

The make up, is fucking amazing.

Hell, i'm olive gold color ish kinda dark/pale (I know I'm going to offend people but hey lets get some flame directed at me and not you) if I cosplay I usually have to put layers upon layers of make up of really light make up. Or when theres a certain character body type, I would have to either starve myself or put pounds on -.-, because we all know that having the best cosplay is amazing.

Now back to the point..... I really am shocked on how idiots-er actually little tiny larvae-wait they evolve, actually lets call them amoeba (even though it gives them more credit for their low iq). They call it racism? well lets take a good look at the dictionary shall we?

racism |ˈrāˌsizəm|

noun

the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

• prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on such a belief : a program to combat racism.

-.- As we can see, they actually don't even know what the hell they are even saying, they used a word without even understanding it -.-

Rick, you did nothing wrong, your wife (bless her amazingly strong heart) as well did nothing wrong. You know whats even fucking hilarious after that? Most people can't come to understand that we all in the world, mixed. I'm mongolian, russian and persian. One of my best friend is norse, irish and african american, the guy I have a major crush on is Italian and arab. We are all mixed, and yet its hilarious we all still use the word race (granted if they have people on an isolated island).

I thought your photos were amazing, they captured the characters. I especially liked how your wife cosplayed as Aveline, had her skin, and it was so perfect that I actually thought it was from the game, until i carefully looked at it. I'm envious on how she pulled it off. My brother actually showed me your photos and was jealous himself, cause he can never cosplay perfectly (he gets miffed and embarrassed when people stare at him, that he thinks they are pointing out the flaws).

Anyways, you putting the make up on correctly is bringing more respect to the character (in my mind). It's really sad that you had to take down the work that you and your wife had went through.

There is a saying my mother loves to say, well actually two sayings.

"Please yourself before you please others." and "They haven't hatched out of their eggs." These two quotes dictate my life. You took down your art because you felt you need to, and I understand that, and it's mature of you to apologize to those in the future, but if you let them walk over you and took them down for them, your pleasing those who don't deserve it and its your art not theirs. Now on the second quote is that the idiots haven't hatched out of their eggs (haven't grown up, hell even I haven't grown up lols). They haven't learned the word race or racism in the correct term. Don't even try to apologize to them, because they obviously can't process their minds.

Those bigots need to apologize to you and your wife.

Now I must end this long winded rant before I continue on and on, or before I contemplate on learning boxing, we needs some idiots in the world to do repetitive boring ass job like paper work (hopefully they don't fuck up even that -.-). >8U (starts raging and climbs up on the roof acting like an assassin)

I have read about what you've been through because of your supposedly 'racist' photos, and really, this is just ridiculous. I see no reason for you to remove those pictures. There will always be people in this world who are hateful, shortsighted and most of all, idiotic. Perhaps they acted out of jealously, or rage against cosplayers, or some other agenda. But do not be mislead - the things they said were by no means out of an urge to defend the races portray (rather skillfully, might I add) by you and your wife. You have talent. A gift. Do not hide it from the world because of a bunch of insensitive zealots who cannot appreciate true art. They feel offended with the use of makeup? What is next, the ban of cartoon characters coloured brown or yellow? Rules against the use of foreign languages in movies? They will shout their unfounded accusations wherever they please. I implore you, good sir, do not heed them. Do as you see fit, you have my utter respect and awe for your works.
