I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

impossible to upload?

Hi folks!

Just tried to upload something to my scrapbook... And the upload keeps giving me the error "which file do you want to select?" while uploading the file went well.

I tried it again (twice), and I now got 3 white icons in the "select file"  folder, which I cannot delete... or change... or nothing.

(that reminds me, I also got 26 ancient messages in my inbox here, that keep coming back after deleting them... over..... and over.... and over again. I think I deleted those things upto a hundred times allready, but after refreshing the page, or being redirected they're right back again.)

Is DA flipping or something?

Anyone else experiencing difficulties?

I only have problems at the moment with the search function of the viewing of work of others. They tend to stop loading, so I have to reload the page a couple of times.

Het klopt wel.. Meerdere mensen heppen problemen met uploaden... Waarschijnlijk speelt .stash hier ook nog een rol bij. Maar Deviantart is het aan het fixen.. tenminste, dat hoop ik.. Vooral voor jou zodat ik je cosplays weer kan zien :>

I've had a couple of problems like this, and the trick I've found is this: when you've uploaded the file, 'select' it (just by clicking the icon of the file you uploaded. That usually does the trick for me. Other than that, maybe try the dA helpdesk of faq?

The symbols appear as white scraps of paper, but you can't click them. Usually there is a red cross next to a file so you can delete it, but I can't even do that.

Thanks for the heads-up though :D I appreciate it!

ummm I don't know what to tell ya
I never really had this problem before.
Maybe you should save it to another file and see if it goes in. If that doesn't work, then I don't know.
